Kanha National Park (India) – July 2017

Kanha National Park (India) - July 2017 best tiger reserve

“What is the best Tiger Reserve in India?” It’s a question that comes up frequently from our guests. Kanha National Park, deep in Jungle Book country, certainly ticks all the boxes and here is why this park comes out as our firm favourite.

WHY WE LOVE KANHA

This Project Tiger reserve is in prime Tiger territory and sightings of this supremely beautiful big cat are the best in India (we find that some of the more Tigercentric parks are too busy for our liking)

This is THE classic untamed India of the Jungle Book

Excellent birding

A scenic wonderland of Sal forest and bamboo thickets interspersed with rolling grasslands and meandering streams – wild India at its best

A relatively large national park in comparison to other Tiger reserves

A host of interesting mammals including Indian Gaur, the largest wild bovine in the world, and the endangered hard-ground Barasingha (Swamp Deer)

Please feel free to contact us should you wish to travel to India’s best Tiger reserve, either on our scheduled departure or on a private customized tour.
